OUHA's Mission & Philosophy

Simply put...

Tutoring

Mission

Our goal is to nurture the development of young minds by fostering a love of learning, encouraging creativity, and promoting social and emotional growth. We aim to create a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment where pre-kindergarten students can explore, discover, and develop the foundational skills necessary for effortlessly transitioning to kindergarten.

Methodologies

Our approach to learning is child-focused. We use story-infused lessons with play-based activities to merge pertinent character-building skills with education for transitioning Pre-Kindergarten learners who will preeminently develop into Kindergarten students. Even though we are careful to adhere to any method sparingly, we strategically incorporate each as part of our education. OUHA's lessons are taught implicitly, and children are often fostered to practice the skills taught via hands-on, interactive, and thoughtfully engaging activities. This strategy plays a crucial role in helping children grasp all concepts.

Neurodiversity

In addition, the way the lessons are structured is systematical to diversity, and this is because they incorporate a neurodiverse perspective. We understand at OUHA Academy that our education may not be one-size-fits-all, and because of this, we aim to include as much adjustability as possible. We understand that the seasons of time and methods are steadily changing and try to remain as current as possible in industry standards without compromising the fact that all children learn differently and at contrasting speeds.

Why We Teach The Way We Do

We have found that children are happier and more eager to approach their studies when learning is derived in these ways. The more comprehension a child has of learning concepts, the more self-assurance they possess. As children become stronger in confidence, they can tackle more complex subjects and, in turn, gain strong independence skills.

Learning is Fun

Vision Statement

OUHA Academy intends to help students use the educational competency and essential character skills gained at the Academy to help them Open Up House as individuals and Achieve in areas such as confidence, cooperation, curiosity, diversity appreciation, and lifelong learning for themselves and their relationships.
